Before replacing the LCD shield plate of your iPhone 5, you have to securely turn it off.
Maintain the power button on the top for a few seconds.
Then slide to the right to "power off" button in red.
Remove the two screws circled in red with a pentalobe screwdriver as shown on the picture.
They are located at the bottom of the iPhone around the dock connector (lightning).
Make sure the suction secures the screen of your iPhone 5.
Pull the suction cup strongly enough to create a space between the front panel and the rest of the screen.
Gently insert a nylon spudger inside that space and pry up.
The screen of your iPhone 5 is still attached to the rear panel. To unclip it, slide the nylon spudger on the left side and then the right side.
Once unclipped, lift the screen and hold it vertically as shown on the picture.
Attention : Don't try removing the screen just yet ! It is still attached to the iPhone 5 by a few connectors.
Remove the three cruciform screws holding the front panel assembly cable bracket to the iPhone 5 logic board :
two 1.2mm cruciform screws circled in red,
one 1.6mm cruciform screw circled in yellow.
ATTENTION : this last screw is not magnetic, so it will not stay attached to the magnetized screwdriver. Do not loose it.
With a pair of tweezers, remove the screen connectors and back camera bracket.
With the nylon spudger gently pry to disconnect the connector linked to the camera assembly and proximity sensor.
Still with the nylon spudger, disconnect the connector linked to the touch screen.
The disconnect the LCD connector.
You can now remove the front panel assembly of your iPhone 5.
Remove the two cruciform screws holding the earpiece spearker bracket :
a 4.1mm cruciform screw circled in red,
a 2.2mm cruciform screw circled in yellow.
With the nylon spudger, gently pry to lift the earpieace speaker bracket.
Then remove it with a pair of tweezers.
Then grab the earpiece speaker on your iPhone 5.
Remove the 2 cruciform screws circled in red holding the LCD shield plate.
With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the 2 screws on each side of the LCD frame.
Now pry to remove the shield place from the LCD screen.
The LCD shield plate of your iPhone 5 is now disassembled.
You can replace it by a new one.
