This guide is for replacing the home button on the iPhone 6S.

Step 1

Before disassembling the home button of your iPhone 6S, you have to securely turn it off.

Maintain the power button on the top for a few seconds.

Then slide to the right to "power off" button in red.

Your iPhone 6S is now turned off.

Step 2

With a pentalobe screw driver, remove the two screws circled in red on the picture.

Those screws are on both side of the lightning connector of the phone.

Those two screws maintain the bottom part of the screen on the iPhone's frame.

Step 3

Then put the iSclack on the iPhone 6S.

The suction cups have to be near the home button (at the bottom) as shown on pictures 1 and 2.

Make sure the suction cups are perfectly attached to the iPhone and then close the handle of the iSclack to separate the suction cups, pulling the front panel up from the rear case.

A black seal on both sides of the phone and another white one at the top and bottom hold the display assembly to the rear panel.

Step 4

Then lift the display assembly to a 90° angle.

With a cruciform screwdriver, remove the five screws circled in red.

Those screws hold the display assembly connector bracket. You'll be able to remove in using tweezers in the next step.

Step 5

Use tweezers to remove the display assembly connector bracket.

Step 6

With a nylon spudger, gently pry to disconnect the following cables:

  • Front camera
  • Earpiece speaker
  • Proximity and light sensor
  • Touch screen/LCD screen

Step 7

Still using the spudger, pry again and disconnect the cable holding the display assembly to the iPhone 6S :

- Front camera

- Earpiece speaker

- Proximity and light sensor

-Home button.

Step 8

You can lift the display assembly and remove it.

The display assembly of the iPhone 6S is now disassembled.

Step 9

Use the cruciform screwdriver to remove the three screws circled in red to secure the home button bracket.

With a pair of tweezers, grab the home button bracket and remove it.

Step 10

Use the nylon spudger and disconnect the home button cable.

Step 11

Peel off the home button cable.

Step 12

With the nylon spudger, peel off the home button.

Step 13

With a pair of tweezers, grab the home button and remove it..

Careful, the home button cable is very fine. If needed, do not hesitate to gently peel off the cable with the nylon spudger

Make sure you reassemble the original Touch ID cable, otherwise, for safety reasons, the Touch ID function will not work.

Step 14

The home button of your iPhone 6S is now disassembled.

If the home button of your iPhone 6S does not work anymore, you can replace it by a new one.

To reassemble your iPhone 6S follow this guide in reverse order.
